Purchasing Manager

The Purchasing Manager will manage the purchasing process from requisition to receipt by identifying proper sources, obtaining quotes and placing orders for material requests through an ERP system. This is a mission critical role that requires excellent communication, time management and collaboration skills. The right candidate must have outstanding customer service skills and be able to work within a team environment Job Responsibilities: Implement preferred supplier strategy as set forth by the Procurement department Overall management and ownership of non-stock purchasing from requisition to receipt for set client(s) to include;  Individual transaction negotiations delivering the best cost, quality and delivery time frame in line with preferred supplier strategy.  Ownership and responsibility for acceptable time duration to convert requisitions to purchase orders  Ownership and responsibility for on time delivery performance  Proactive communication with suppliers when delivery dates are coming due  Proactive communication of problem transactions as well as proposed solutions, to client users   Proactive communication with field team relative to tracking orders, shipments, trouble shooting and responding to all other questions Manage Customer Care Associate(s) in effectively supporting designated client(s) Develop and drive countermeasures for under-performing key processes and/or material suppliers. Identify communicate repeat non-stock purchases to proper category managers  Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve purchasing related problems Handle all invoice exceptions, including A/P match exceptions associated with purchasing and the expediting of open orders Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, required.  7-10 years direct purchasing experience Demonstrated experience managing staff Must be a motivated self-starter with an exceptional sense of urgency, follow up and drive to get things done right the first time every time Demonstrated experience as an effective communicator and relationship builder Experience purchasing indirect/MRO materials is required Service business experience a competitive advantage Strong systems acumen: Knowledge of Peoplesoft ERP software and MS Office software preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills required Ability to multi-task, manage a large volume of communication. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
